HISTORY
100 Women Who Care was started in November of 2006 by Karen Dunigan of Jackson, Michigan. Karen saw that the giving circle concept was a simple way for busy women to raise money efficiently and quickly for local charities. At the first meeting, a group of over 100 women chose The Center for Family Health as their recipient. Each member wrote a check for $100 directly to the charity raising a total of $12,800 in one hour. The Centre quickly used the donations to buy 300 new baby cribs. Since then, chapters have formed all over the North America, South East Asia and Ireland.

THE STORY BEHIND THE WARMLAND GROUP
100 Warmland Women was formed in December of 2017 as a response to the tremendous spirit of generosity that exists in the Cowichan Valley. While many chapters in large cities struggle to gather 100 members, Pam Richmond recognized the giving nature of her fellow Warmlanders and floated the idea on Facebook. Within hours she had forty women wanting to join! A Lead Team of organizers was formed within days and 100 Warmland Women was launched.
Thank you to the original Lead Team of Pam, Renee Closson, Mairi Pigeon and Linda Hicks for getting us off the ground.

OUR LEAD TEAM
Our Lead Team is made up of some dedicated ladies who love this valley and like you, want to support the hard working organizations that are a big part in making this a great place to live.
Committed to developing and growing this giving circle, they work behind the scenes to look after meeting logistics, creative design, web maintenance, social media, pursuing 'in-kind' sponsorships, managing the membership and nomination submissions. Currently the day to day is run by one person, but meetings are run by a variety of members who volunteer for tasks the day of. Lead Team is a loose term for those who do stuff. If you'd like to get involved -email us.
